ABOUT
EDSA Unair was founded in Surabaya on November 13th, 1989 based on Article 2, clause 1 of the Article of Association. At first, it stood under the Faculty of Social and Political Science of UniversitasAirlangga. Due to the founding of the Faculty of Literature in 1998, it was moved to the new faculty which was then renamed the Faculty of Humanities. At the present time, EDSA has had 27 periods of the student body. The core members of the EDSA student body include the chairman, vice-chairman, two treasurers, two secretaries, and six heads of divisions. Advisory Council also assists the student body. It consists of one coordinator and five members who were the chairmen of EDSA.

An annual event held by English Department Students' Association Universitas Airlangga (EDSA).
ENGLISH OLYMPIC
This competition provides an opportunity for High School students in Indonesia to improve their English skills and enhance their knowledge. This competition will be in the format of teams that use knockout and scoring systems. It will be devided into three rounds: Preliminary, Semifinal, and Final. The competition will take place hybrid. Online for Preliminary Round, and offline for Semi Final and Final Round at the Faculty of Humanities, Airlangga University.
ENGLISH DEBATE COMPETITION
This competition provides an opportunity for High School students in Indonesia to improve their English skills and enhance their knowledge. It will be in the format of teams that use Asian Parliamentary Systems. The competition will be conducted in four rounds: Preliminary, Quarter, Semifinal, and Final.
SPELLING BEE
This competition is open to high school students from all over East Java and will be held offline. Students will compete to show off their English understanding by spelling out each word that will be given by the judge. The winner shall bask in glory and recognition along with the cash prize and a trophy.
NEWS ANCHOR
Shakesperior’s News Anchor Competition is an event held by EDSA to celebrate the anniversary of the English Department Universitas Airlangga. This competition is held for high school students in the East Java region to develop their public speaking abilities, enhance their knowledge of professional news reporting, and as a resource for their unlimited creativity.
